Privacy Policy — First Round

# Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026
App: First Round — Cocktails Exploration
Developer: Guillaume Lagacé

## Summary

First Round does not collect, store, or share any of your personal
information. All data you create in the app stays on your device or in your own private iCloud account.

## What we don’t do

## What stays on your device

Everything you do in First Round — drinks you mark as tried, save,
or rate, photos you attach to diary entries, notes, your profile
name and avatar — is stored locally in the app’s sandbox.

## What syncs to your own iCloud

If your device is signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled,
First Round uses Apple’s CloudKit framework to sync the items above across your own devices. This sync uses your private CloudKit
database, which is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you (or
someone signed in to your iCloud account) can access it. The developer cannot see your data.

You can disable this sync at any time by signing out of iCloud or
turning off iCloud for First Round in iOS Settings.

## Photos

Photos you attach to diary entries are stored in two places:

  1. Locally, in the app’s sandboxed Documents folder, protected by
iOS Data Protection (encrypted at rest).
  2. In your own private iCloud container, via CloudKit. Photos are not uploaded anywhere else.

When you delete a photo or reset your data in the app, the local copy
is removed. The corresponding iCloud record is also removed (or left
as an orphan that you can clean up via iCloud Settings).

## Camera & Photo Library access

If you choose to attach a photo, the app asks for permission to take
a picture (Camera) or pick one (Photo Library). Permission is only
requested at the moment you use the feature, and only the specific
photo you choose is delivered to the app — never your full library.

## Voluntary sharing

The app includes a “Share with the developer” button in the Profile
screen. Tapping it composes an email to the developer with a JSON
attachment of your in-app data. This is fully optional and only sent
if you explicitly send the email. The developer uses this data only
to improve the app and does not share or store it elsewhere.

## Cocktail data

The IBA cocktail catalog, images, ingredients, and metadata bundled
with the app are sourced from public domain references, the
International Bartenders Association, and TheCocktailDB. No
network requests are made to fetch this content — everything is
embedded in the app at install time.

## External links

The app may surface links to YouTube and IBA pages. Tapping them
opens your default browser. Once you leave First Round, the privacy
policies of those external sites apply.

## Children

First Round is rated 17+ because it features alcoholic beverage
content. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect any data from anyone, including minors.

## Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this
URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted
in the app’s release notes.
